Jennifer Marschel was born and raised in Phoenix, AZ. She went to Xavier College Preparatory for high school, ASU for her pre-veterinary degree in Agribusiness, and then on to Colorado State University for veterinary school. She has lived and practiced in Arizona as well as in the Virginia/Washington DC area. She owned Orangewood Animal Hospital for many years before merging Orangewood with Palo Verde Animal Hospital. She lives in Phoenix with her husband Bill, daughter Emily and a very loving Labradoodle named Ella. She enjoys going to Orange Theory, following the St. Louis Cardinals, and playing the piano.
Dr. Elaina Volpe, DVM is originally from Pennsylvania, and attended Delaware Valley University where she earned an Animal Science degree. She and her husband moved west to for her to attend Midwestern University in Glendale to become a Veterinarian, where she graduated as a member of the medicine honor society Phi Zeta. They loved the Phoenix area, and decided to put down roots with their Boston Terrier, Yoshi.
Dr. Volpe worked in an animal shelter early in life and knew from the start her calling was to be an advocate for animals. She finds the bonds she creates with clients and their pets to be the most rewarding part of being a veterinarian. Dr. Volpe provides the best care when her clients reach out and express their worries and observations about their pet so she can understand the full picture of their health and encourages all her clients to tell her what’s on their mind.
In her spare time, Dr. Volpe and her husband enjoy exploring Phoenix and beyond, especially trying new restaurants. She relaxes by reading a mystery, thriller or fantasy, creating textured canvas art pieces, or watching Philly sports. But watch out, Dr. Volpe recently learned to drive a stick shift car!
Veronica was born and raised in Arizona and has been in the veterinary field for over a decade.
Starting her career in rescue adoptions, Veronica quickly found a passion for the medical side of things, so she pursued a technician position. After many years of running high volume surgery in both technician and managerial roles, Veronica decided to focus on cultivating long term patient relationships at Palo Verde.
When not at work, Veronica enjoys spending time with her daughter, reading, and making jewelry. She has two long-haired chihuahuas, Carmen and Tig, who are spoiled rotten.
Hi, I am Melanie. I love my profession with a passion. I love being a part of a team that cares so much for their patients and clients. I got into this profession for my love for animals! I started at Palo Verde Animal Hospital in September 2000 and left to work from home in September 2021, missing the clinic and clients I came back to in March of 2022. When I’m not in the clinic I enjoy photography, reading and keeping up with my granddaughter Daisy. I share my home with a crazy Pug named Buddha Da Pug, and 4 cats, Banana, Missey, Oogie and Tobias.
Hi! I’m Wendy, born and raised in Phoenix and mother to a feisty chihuahua named Sol. I love animals which was the main reason for my career choice. I’m currently in my veterinary assistant era but hope to one day be in my vet era. Until then, I leave you with this inspirational quote – “Life is a soup and I’m a fork.”
